Nathaniel Cruz, PAG-ASA 's chief weather forecaster, says that PAGASA has not raised any public storm warning signals over any provinces in the country for the upcoming typhoons, but confirms that there are two tropical storms / typhoons that may hit the country in the next 2 to 3 days. As of 4PM Typhoon "PEPENG" (Typhoon Parma) has gained more strength as it continues to move towards Northern Luzon. Maximum sustained winds of 195 kph near center and gustiness of up to 230 kph. Pagasa says that the Pepeng Typhoon can potentially be a super typhoon, as reported by DZMM. According to PAGASA, Pepeng Typhoon will be most critical this Saturday afternoon

Now that the Ondoy typhoon is gone, here are some tips found on the net on what to do after the flooding:
Before anything else, avoid electrical shock. Make sure all electrical switches are turned off (shut the main power switch off). Wear rubber boots. Keep cords out of the water.
Take pictures of the damage for insurance purposes or possible financial assistance later on.
Then:
- remove all water, mud and other debris (wear a mask if mold growth has started)
- dispose of contaminated household goods (it is recommended to dispose of carpets that have been drenched in contaminated sewage water for 24 hours or more)
- rinse away and disinfect contamination inside the home
- remove the rinse water
- clean and dry out your house and salvageable possessions.

2009-Sep-26 Nearly two days of continuous rain caused by typhoon Ondoy lead to extremely heavy flash floods in many parts of the metropolis. In many parts of the city entire houses have actually been submerged by flooding with many major dams overflowing as well. All throughout the city one will encounter streets so flooded that in many cases vehicles are submerged in flood waters up to and over their windows.
Many people have had their houses submerged in flood and
ruined, even in areas that traditionally do not experience such deep flooding.
People in these areas have to be rescued by boats and rafts and many
are still trapped in the roofs or upper floors of their houses

The storm Ondoy was forecast by PAGASA to be 230 kilometers west northwest of Zambales by Sunday morning.
Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has declared a state of calamity in Metro Manila and at least 25 provinces greatly affected by the tropical storm Ondoy, according to Defense Secretary and National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) chairman Gilbert Teodoro, who also said that rescue efforts are being focused on Cainta, Marikina and Pasig. The Philippine Air Force will also help in the rescue as soon as possible.
The 25 provinces under a state of calamity are:
Aurora, Quirino, Nueva Viscaya, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Zambales, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Quezon, Isabela, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, La Union, Ilocos Sur, Cavite, Batangas, Mindoro Occidental, Mindoro Oriental, Marinduque, Camarines Norte, and Bataan.
